Jailed former president Abdulla Yameen has been admitted at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for a second time.
IGMH’s media official told RaajjeMV that he was taken to hospital on Monday after the prison doctor advised that he be treated at the cardiology ward.
The media official said they intend to monitor him for 24 hours.
On February 18, Yameen was detained for the rest of his trial on a state money-laundering charge after the Prosecutor General (PG) office accused him of offering bribes to witnesses to change their testimonies.
He was first admitted on February 20 and was returned to prison the next day.
