Parliament committee interviews candidates for EC membership
They are vying for a seat that will be left empty after member Ismail Habeeb completes his term on April 13

The parliament’s committee on independent institutions is now interviewing the 16 candidates who applied for Elections Commission (EC) membership.
The sitting on February 26 forwarded the names of the candidates to the committee for review.
The candidates are: Shuaib Yusuf, Abdulla Raazee, Ahmed Adeem, Ahmed Ali, Aminath Saadhiya, Mariyam Haneefa Khalid, Aminath Madheeha, Aishath Hafeez, Mohamed Manik, Seleena Sulvan Ahmed, Ismail Sajid, Mohamed Shafiu, Mohamed Shammoon, Yasir Waseem, Ahmed Moosa, and Ismail Habeeb.
They are vying for a seat that will be left empty after member Ismail Habeeb completes his term on April 13. Habeeb has re-applied for membership.
The president forwarded the names to parliament in the order that their applications were submitted.
