The parliament has stated that it is evaluating the no-confidence motion against Defence Minister Mariya Didi.
Speaking to RaajjeMV, parliament secretary general Aminath Fathimath said that they are evaluating the legal validity of the motion.
Some have questioned the validity of the motion, since it contains signatures of only 14 MPs.
According to the constitution, a no-confidence motion against the minister needs signatures of at least 10 MPs before it can be voted on. The parliament is required to give the minister a chance to respond 14 days before the debate begins.
A no-confidence motion against a minister needs the votes of 43 MPs to pass.
