Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid is in Geneva, Switzerland, for the High-Level Segment of the 40th Session of the Human Rights Council.
The Foreign Minister travelled to Geneva on Monday.
During his trip, Minister Shahid will meet with the Human Rights Council and foreign delegates.
He is now at the Opening Session of the Council and will be speaking at 6pm (Maldives time).
During the session, high-level discussions will be held on various human rights related issues, such as the right to privacy, rights of persons with disabilities, rights of minorities, and rights of children.
The session began with a keynote speech from United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres.
