Maldives Police Service has arrested two individuals in a drug bust in capital city Male’.
The 20-year-old and 21-year-old were arrested during an operation conducted by the Drug Enforcement Department upon receiving an intelligence report on the 19th of February.
Officers had seized four rubber packets and a piece of cellophane suspected to contain narcotic substances, from the two after stopping and searching them while they were on a motorcycle.
The Criminal Court remanded them for 10 days at a facility decided by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The Drug Enforcement Department is further investigating the case.
