The safe recently stolen from the Ministry of Economic Development’s office in southernmost Addu City has been found emptied. 

The Maldives Police Service said on Sunday that the safe was found in the follow-up to a tip officers received. 

The safe was reported stolen on 5th February, at about 8:00am; the Economic Ministry says that the safe had in it over MVR 50,000 (about USD 3,200) when it was stolen. 

The police are yet to make any arrests in the robbery.
