Maldives Police Service has begun an investigation into the break-in at Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) premises.

Police media official revealed that the break-in was reported to them a little past 8am on Sunday and that a hefty amount of cash was stolen.

Investigative authorities are yet to reveal an exact amount that was robbed, having revealed that they will publicize details once they come.

MTCC Managing Director Hassan Shah told RaajjeMV that he estimates around MVR 80,000 was stolen, and that the burglars had also taken a laptop.

CCTV footage shows masked men, wearing gloves, breaking into the building.
