The police service has summoned Villimale’ MP Ahmed Nihan and taken his statement regarding Wednesday’s protest.
Nihan was summoned on Thursday on the accusation of obstructing police duties, after a video of the protest revealed that he had placed a rock in front of the wheel of a police vehicle.
Nihan left the police headquarters after two-and-a-half hours. Speaking to the media outside, he accused the police of trying to intimidate the opposition.
He said that he will accept any police summons but that it will not hinder his work.
