Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)’s parliamentary candidates have begun disclosing their financial statements.

MDP has publicized financial statements of more than 50 candidates so far.

Speaking to RaajjeMV, deputy secretary general Afshan Latheef said they have received financial statements of almost all the candidates and that they publicizing them on the MDP website.

MDP initially requested their candidates to disclose their financial statements before February 14, 8pm. However, they extended the deadline to February 21 since the candidates were busy campaigning.

MDP is the only party to have publicized the financial statements of their candidates, and while some independent candidates have also publicized their financial statements, no other party has requested their candidates to do the same.
