Following the seizure of a Maldivian fishing vessel in Indian territorial waters, Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has cautioned against trespassing international waters.
On Friday, Maldivian boat 'Veevaru' was caught fishing near Suheli Par in Lakshadweep by the Indian Coast Guard on Friday.
The boat and 12 crew members were released later that day, and MNDF's information officer Captain Ibrahim Azim said that that they were released "after taking into account [the country's] friendly relations with Maldives."
'Veevaru' is currently on the way back to Maldives.
