Progressive Congress is holding its primary election on Friday.
The coalition made up of Progressive Party of Maldives and People’s National Congress is holding their joint primary election for six constituencies.
The voting for constituencies Felidhoo, M. Mulak, Makunudhoo, Alifushi, Thulusdhoo, and Kimbidhoo is being held at their respective islands and the PPM office in capital Male’, from 3pm to 6pm.
19 candidates from both parties ran in the primary election.
After the coalition partnership, PPM members who have already been given party tickets will now be representing the coalition in the April’s parliamentary election.
The coalition has given party tickets to 63 candidates without holding a primary election.
