New Maldives Ambassador to India Aishath Mohamed Didi has presented her credentials to President Ram Nath Kovind.
Ambassador Aishath presented her credentials at a ceremony on Friday at the Presidential Palace, where she also presented the Letter of Recall of her predecessor to India’s President.
At the ceremony, the President Kovind congratulated Ambassador Aishath on the commencement of her term and conveyed greetings and good wishes to the President and the people of Maldives.
Ambassador Aishath expressed appreciation on behalf of the government and people of the Maldives for the continued assistance from India in Maldives’ socio-economic development. She assured the commitment of the government and the people of Maldives to further enhance the close cooperation with India.
Ambassador Aishath is the fifth resident Ambassador and also the first ever female Ambassador accredited to India to represent the Maldives, since the establishment of diplomatic relations between both countries, on 1 November 1965.
