Elections Commission (EC) has formed a National Advisory Committee for the upcoming Parliamentary Election scheduled for April 6.
EC via twitter revealed that they have assembled the committee and scheduled its first meeting.
The first meeting of the National Advisory Committee has been scheduled for Monday.
Speaking to RaajjeMV, EC member and spokesperson Ahmed Akram said that the 26-member committee also comprises of representatives of NGOs for women and persons with special needs.
Akram said that the committee will be chaired by EC President Ahmed Shareef.
According to the Parliamentary Election guidelines publicized on the 09th of January, representatives from 12 organizations including the police service, Maldives Media Council, the human rights commission, NGOs as well as political parties will be involved in the National Advisory Committee.
