Four individuals have been arrested for multiple break-ins and robberies of state-run institutions in Maakurathu island of Raa atoll.

The safe at the island’s health center was stolen and cash from other offices they broke into is missing as well. The safe at the island’s council was forced open as well, from which they stole MVR 40,000.

The safe at the health center had a total of MVR 15,000. All state-run offices in the island were broken into and robbed on Thursday.

The individuals were arrested under court orders; two of them are of ages 21, one of age 19, and another of age 62.
