Ministry of National Planning and Infrastructure has on Wednesday announced that vessels will be prohibited from travelling under the Sinamale bridge until the end of the work being carried out by authorities to move the temporary platform and instruments used during construction of the bridge.

The ministry via the government gazette, revealed that the announcement comes after some seafarers were observed travelling near the region despite a notice issued by the ministry earlier.

The notice is effective til May 2019.

The announcement states that vessels will be prohibited from going into the region as it is risky and dangerous given the work they are currently doing on the bridge.

Surfers and the public in general are also advised to be cautious of the temporary structures placed in the region during the construction of the bridge, which are now to be removed.
