Deputy Mayor Shamau Shareef has said that Male’ City Council will soon open an office in Hulhumale’.
Speaking on RaajjeTV’s ‘100 Days’ show, the Deputy Minister said that the council wants to expand its services and that their new office would help solve the issues faced by Hulhumale’ residents.
Regarding the waste management in Male’, Shamau said that the council is working with WAMCO to make waste disposal more efficient.
He also said that the council is working to solve the problem of a lack of parking space in the capital city by holding discussions with the transport ministry and freeing up parking space in some areas.
He said that the new parking spaces will be able to hold more than 300 motorcycles and that a new parking space will also be established at the market, the busiest area in Male’.
Regarding the trees that were cut down in Male’ during the previous administration, Shamau said that they will plant 1,000 trees in various parts of the city in the next two months.
