Commission asks public for information on treatment of convicts
The commission will be accepting information sent by the public until January 10

The presidential commission tasked with auditing prisons has asked the public for information on the treatment of convicts.
In a press release, the commission stated that they began their work on December 18 and are currently obtaining the relevant information.
The commission stated that they will be accepting information sent by the public on the treatment of convicts until January 10. Those wishing to give any information are requested to send an e-mail to pac@homeaffairs.gov.mv, call 3321752 during working hours, or send a letter to the commission’s office.
During the election campaign, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih said that he would conduct an independent audit of the prison system within 100 days of his administration.
Maldives has prisons in Male’, Maafushi, Himmafushi, and Dhoonidhoo as well as a detention center for foreigners.
