Drugs and narcotics seized during the past three years amount to 130 kilograms, reveals Acting Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed.
Hameed revealed this via twitter on Tuesday.
Stressing that the drug epidemic is detrimental to the local communities, Hameed highlighted that the tactics used by officers to prevent and deter drug trafficking and peddling is aimed at achieving the overarching objective of protecting the public.

The annual police crime statistics shows that the number of reported cases of drug smuggling reached 2,230 in 2018. The number of cases reported to in 2017 was less, recorded at 2,036, and the highest number being recorded at 2,379 by the end of 2016.
