A 27-year-old woman has been apprehended for attempting to smuggle illegal drugs into Kaadedhdhoo Island of Gaaf Dhaal atoll.

The woman, who was on a flight from capital city Malé, was arrested through a joint-operation by intelligence officers and the Thinadhoo island police.

She was arrested upon her arrival in Kaadedhdhoo, with 98 packets of what the police said ‘appears to be illegal drugs’.
