Discussions have been held on ways to promote heritage and culture through the tourism industry.
Minister of arts, culture and heritage, Yumna Maumoon, met with tourism minister Ali Waheed on Monday.
In a tweet sent out on Monday night, heritage ministry said that discussions were held with the tourism minister on "how heritage and culture can be promoted through [the] tourism industry."

While Yumna was appointed the first minister in the newly created arts, culture and heritage ministry, the post comes with high expectations from the public who believe that these areas have been neglected in the past.
A former head at the heritage department, she resigned from the post in protest over the dismantling of Kalhuvakaru Mosque, formerly located in Sultan Park.
