Jumhooree Party (JP) leader Qasim Ibrahim has said that the party also has what it takes to contest for every parliament seat.

He said this in regards to the government coalition’s main party Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) deciding to contest in every constituency in the parliament election.

At a press conference on Monday night, Qasim said that the reason JP has not done the same is because they want to place the good of the coalition first but warned that the party’s patience has its limits.

Top coalition members have criticized MDP for deciding to contest for every parliament seat, which they say is against the agreement to divide the constituencies between each coalition party. But the President’s Office spokesperson Ibrahim Hoodh denied there being such an agreement.
