Minister at the President's Office, Ahmed Sameer is in Henbadhoo island of Noonu atoll, as a special envoy of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
He arrived in the island on Sunday.
Speaking to RaajjeMV regarding the trip on Monday, the minister stated that he met with the island's council members on Sunday.
Noting that he had also held discussions with the island's residents, Sameer said that they had shared their various concerns with him.
In addition, Minister Sameer conveyed to them President Solih's vision for the island.
He is to compile a report of his trip to Henbadhoo, which is to be shared with the president.
While this is the first time President Solih has sent a representative to an outlying island since assuming office last month, Minister Sameer is to return to capital Male' City later on Monday.
Henbadhoo is one of the many islands facing electrical shortage issues.
