Home Minister Imran Abdulla visited the police accommodation block on Sunday night
A fire broke out in the Villingilli police accommodation block late Saturday night, leaving two officers with severe burns

Home Minister Imran Abdulla has visited the police accommodation block in Villingilli island of Gaafu Alifu atoll, to inspect damages caused by a recent fire.

Maldives Police Service (MPS) said that the minister visited the site on Sunday night.

Imran also met with officers stationed at the island.

While some officers had lost their belongings in the fire, the minister presented them with the necessities.

Furthermore, Minister Imran also met with island women’s committee who owns the building where the accommodation block is located.

He was accompanied by Police Commissioner Hamdhoon Rasheed.

A fire broke out in the Villingilli police accommodation block late Saturday night, leaving two officers with severe burns.

The police spokesperson told RaajjeMV that two officers sustained burn injuries while working to control the fire.
