Ali Shah and Hussain Manik handed over their membership forms to JP leader Qasim Ibrahim at a special ceremony on Tuesday night. Senior JP members including former President Mohamed Jameel were present at the ceremony.
Speaking at the ceremony, MP Shah emphasized the need for politicians to prioritize the nation over their own concerns and praised the four leaders of the government coalition.
Both Shah and Hussain Manik had previously been members of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM).

Bilehdhoo MP Ahmed Mubeen and Hanimaadhoo MP Hussain Shahid have also recently signed onto JP.
With the addition of the new MPs, JP’s parliamentary group now consists of 19 members.
