Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid has said that necessary measures will be taken against his predecessor, after the investigation into sexual harassment allegations against him concludes.
At a press briefing held at the ministry on Thursday, the minister said that a committee- comprising of three members- are investigating the case, and that he expects to receive the conclusion report later on Thursday.
He added that necessary measures will be taken against former minister Dr. Mohamed Asim as per the report.
Furthermore, noting that 80 percent of the employees at the ministry are women, minister Shahid revealed that he plans to conduct training programmes to ensure their safety.
Earlier this month, reports surfaced that the minister had harassed at least three female employees at the ministry.
