Maldives Ambassador to India Ahmed Mohamed has resigned.
In a tweet, Mohamed said he will be relinquishing his duties as ambassador after Friday.
He said that he will return to Maldives soon and that it was an honour to have served as the Ambassador to India for the past three years.

Ahmed was previously a minister and a senior member of Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP).
Senior officials of the government and government-affiliated companies have been resigning in anticipation of the new administration.
