Foreign ministry confirms sexual harassment complaint against 'a senior official'
The statement comes following multiple sexual harassment allegations against the foreign minister

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that a sexual harassment complaint has been filed against “a senior official” at the ministry.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the ministry said that “a complaint has been lodged [on Thursday] with the Committee established in the Ministry to receive, investigate and handle all complaints relating to sexual abuse and harassment”.

“The Committee is currently investigating the complaint,” said the ministry, adding that it “is working towards strengthening existing institutional mechanisms to address issues of sexual harassment, to ensure zero tolerance towards sexual harassment within the institution and also to ensure a safe working environment for all its staff.”

The statement comes following multiple sexual harassment allegations against the foreign minister.

While the reports first surfaced on social media, a number of people have expressed outrage over the matter and called for an immediate investigation.
