Former President Mohamed Nasheed has decided to visit Addu City on next week’s Friday.
After returning from his self-exile, the opposition leader was scheduled to visit the southernmost city this Saturday.
However, the heavy rain in the southern region has delayed his trip.
South Hithadhoo MP Ali Nizar told RaajjeMV that since his trip will be a celebration but the current weather will make it difficult to hold the event.
After more than two years abroad since fleeing his prison sentence, Nasheed was welcomed by thousands of supporters in capital Male’ City on Thursday upon his arrival after the Supreme Court suspended his sentence.
A huge welcoming event was held for him in the capital city, which continued from when he arrived in Maldives in the afternoon until midnight.
