Pakistani ambassador Vice Admiral Waseem Akram has paid a courtesy call on Maldives president-elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
The meeting comes at a time that the Supreme Court is deliberating on a case requesting to nullify the result of the 2018 presidential election, filed by outgoing President Abdulla Yameen.
Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan earlier called to congratulate Solih for his election win and has accepted his invitation to visit Maldives.
It is notable that Solih is being continuously receiving praise for his huge win at the September 23 election from foreign leaders and senior members of international organizations.
