Attempting to nullify the presidential election result is a sign that President Abdulla Yameen has a complete lack of shame, says religious scholar Ilyas Hussain.
In a tweet on Saturday, Sheikh Ilyas condemned President Yameen for ignoring the people’s decision to vote him out of office and to try to nullify the election result through the Supreme Court as a constitutional case.

The Supreme Court has accepted the case and scheduled the first hearing for Sunday.
The details of the case have since been leaked. It requested the court to order the police and military to investigate the Elections Commission over alleged vote rigging, revealing that there has been no prior police probe regarding the allegation.
President Yameen’s case mainly focuses on the ballot papers and "vote rigging rings" allegedly used to commit electoral fraud.
While the president initially conceded defeat to the opposition candidate after the final results were announced, he later began accusing the Elections Commission of rigging the election.
