The police said that those that those involved in such violent crimes will face the ‘full strength of the law’

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) has said that they will take swift action to tackle violent crimes and ensure the safety of all citizens.

In a statement on Thursday, the MPS said that they are investigating the stabbings carried out this week in Addu City and capital city Malé.

The police said that those that those involved in such violent crimes will face the ‘full strength of the law’.

A 14-year-old boy was stabbed in the neck early Thursday morning in Malé. He had succumbed to his injuries.

A young man was also attacked near the Olympus Theatre in Malé, a heavily populated area. The man was rushed to the ADK Hospital, doctors say he is now stable, but his condition is serious.

A 22-year-old was stabbed in Addu City on Saturday night. His injuries were serious and is receiving treatment at a hospital in capital city Malé.
