Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) is seeking new executive board members.

MATATO has stated that it will be accepting applications until the end of October and will announce their names 15 days before its annual general meeting.

MATATO was founded in 2006 by a group of tour operators in the Maldives and has evolved to be a leading non-profit organization in the country and at the forefront of Maldivian tourism industry.

The NGO has nine seats in its executive board and appoints members every two years. Only ordinary members are allowed to vote for the applicants vying for the seats.

The current executive board consists of its president Abdulla Giyas Riyaz of Inner Maldives, vice president Abdulla Suood of Tropical Collections, vice president Ibrahim Shiham of Yacht Tours Maldives, treasurer Ali Ahmed of Vista travel and Services, Aminath Nina Nizar of Sun Travels & Tours, Ahmed Fiyaz of Pearl Travel Service, Mohamed Khaleel of Reollo Travel, Mohamed Jinan of Voyages Maldives, and Khathim Hassan of Island Pearl Holidays.
