The Supreme Court has ruled to keep Villingili constituency MP Saud Hussein and Thulusdhoo constituency MP Ibrahim Waheed in parliament.
The ruling comes in a case filed by one of the 12 lawmakers who were disqualified by the Elections Commission on the basis of floor-crossing, contesting the commission’s decision.
Other MPs presented to court on Monday in the case are Dhiddhoo constituency MP Abdul Latheef Mohamed and Maduvvari constituency MP Mohamed Ameeth.
The 12 lawmakers, whose dismissal has been heavily contested, have been barred from several important parliamentary sittings, including the one to approve the state budget for next year.
