Families of senior government officials have been seen speaking out against President Abdulla Yameen when his campaign team came out to garner support at the local market.
RaajjeMV has received photos showing a campaign team from the ruling party at the local market being surrounded by people gesturing the number 2 sign to show their support for the opposition presidential candidate and candidate number 2, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
The crowd voicing their opposition to President Yameen included government employees and the father of a chairman of a government-affiliated company.
Some senior officials in state utilities companies STELCO and FENAKA as well as other government-affiliated companies have also voiced their opposition to the government. School principals and teachers have also been showing their support for opposition candidate Solih.
The ruling party’s campaign team headed by Ibrahim Muaz Ali, the spokesperson at the President’s Office, have repeatedly gone to the local market to garner support for President Yameen for the upcoming elections. However, their visits are always followed by arguments between them and people in the area.
