Opposition coalition’s Presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Tuesday returned to capital city Male’ after concluding his trip to four atolls.
The campaign team’s return to the capital marks the completion of their tour to every inhabited island in Maldives, .
On Tuesday morning, Solih and team returned to Male’ after visiting Vaavu, Meemu, Faafu and Dhaalu atolls.
Solih, his running mate Faisal Naseem, and their campaign teams have completed their campaign tour to 187 inhabited islands within a span of three months and four days while the other candidate vying for re-election, President Abdulla Yameen and his running mate Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed have visited only a few islands, with the President only travelling to inaugurate the government’s development projects.
After officially receiving the joint opposition coalition’s presidential ticket on the 30th of June, Solih and team began their campaign tour on the 13th of July from Addu City, which ended from Maa’enboodhoo island of Dhaalu atoll on Monday.
Solih and Faisal will be re-visiting Fuvahmulah City on Wednesday and travel to Addu City on Thursday.
Moreover, the opposition Presidential candidate will be joining an event to be held at Hotel Jen on Tuesday night, which will be hosted RaajjeTV to give citizens to share their concerns with Solih for a final time before election day.
The event titled “Rayyithunge Dharubaaru” is to take place at Hotel Jen at 08:45 p.m. and is the second one to be held since 2013.
