Joint Opposition releases manifesto with pledges from four opposition leaders
Manifesto states that the four opposition leaders will sign agreement to keep government intact in case of coalition disbanding
The parliament should pass the agreement within 30 days of the coalition government receiving parliament majority, it adds
The manifesto does not detail the content of the agreement or the changes to be made to the constitution

The opposition coalition has released its own manifesto, which includes the pledges of the four opposition leaders.

The joint manifesto states that the constitution needs to be changed in order to reform the government.

It also states that the four leaders will sign an agreement that would keep the government leadership intact in a situation where the coalition disband and that the parliament should pass the agreement within 30 days of the coalition government receiving parliament majority.

The manifesto does not detail the content of the agreement or the changes to be made to the constitution.

It has also split all the pledges of the opposition parties into six categories. They are: experts, health sector, security policy, housing, fishing, and tourism.

The coalition’s manifesto does not include some pledges on government leadership and justice in the manifesto released by Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), the main opposition party. This includes MDP’s pledge to appoint judges from other countries to court benches to increase public trust and ones that seek to change the government into a parliamentary system.

The coalition’s manifesto has replaced these pledges with ones on changing state policies that harm citizens.
