Joint Opposition coalition’s Presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and his running mate Faisal Naseem have visited Kaashidhoo island in Kaafu atoll as part of the opposition’s campaign.

The team arrived in Kaashidhoo island on Sunday morning, and was welcomed warmly by residents.

Faisal is the representative of Kaashidhoo constituency in Parliament.

The opposition Presidential candidate poured noteworthy pledges to the island citizens while speaking to them at a gathering on Sunday morning, upon the team’s arrival.

As such, Solih pledged to develop a resort in the island after conducting a land reclamation project, an initiative by the administration of main opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) in order to expand tourism in the island.

Solih further pledged to develop a new school in the island, to heighten the education sector as well as to provide a platform that paves efficient methods for fishermen.

In the opposition coalition’s government, ways will be paved to sell agricultural crops at a faster rate, as such, centers will be created in which crops will be sold and farmers will be given subsidy to purchase everything needed to operate the centers.

Solih also pledged to establish water supply and sewerage systems as well as to boost health service by providing necessary equipment to upgrade the health sector.

While the opposition coalition visited Kaashidhoo on Sunday, Solih and team had travelled to Gaafaru island on Saturday. During his visit, Solih pledged to fulfill many of the requirements of residents in Gaafaru island, along with the reclamation of land.

Solih travelled to Gaafaru on Saturday as part of the opposition’s campaign tour, where Solih met with supporters of the coalition and pledged to make the development schemes promised to the island by the main opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)’s administration, a reality.

As such, Solih pledged to establish an ice plant, water supply and sewerage system, to upgrade the health services available as well as to expand the school premises.

Solih and Naseem have covered most of the nation during their campaign and they had split into two different teams to cover more atolls at a swifter pace. At each and every island thus far, the opposition team have been received with a warm and gracious welcome.
