RaajjeMV has received reports that a 33-year-old man has been injured in an assault in Fuvahmulah City.
According to Maldives Police Service (MPS) media official, the assault on the 33-year-old man was reported close to 08:30 p.m. on Saturday and that the man is currently being treated at Fuvahmulah Hospital.
RaajjeMV understands that the man was stabbed in the neck.
Police revealed that they are carrying out further investigations into the assault case.
While cases of assault and gang violence have notably increased in the capital city Male’ and outlying atolls, police crime statistics show a hike in assault cases by 10% within the past month.
