President Abdulla Yameen has failed to fulfill his promise of publicizing the ruling party's manifesto in the latest campaign event on Friday night.

The promotion for the event at the carnival area had stated that it will reveal President Yameen’s vision for the future of Maldives in the years 2018 to 2023.

However, there was no mention of the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM)'s manifesto or President Yameen’s envisioned future during the entire event, except for the announcement that Get Set loans will be issued to a thousand people.

Responding to the opposition’s criticism, President Yameen earlier said that the ruling party’s manifesto was ‘a surprise’ and that it would be publicized after Eid al-Fitr. However, it has now been 14 days since the end of the religious holiday.

Meanwhile, main opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) publicized its manifesto 85 days before the elections.
