Joint Opposition presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has made several significant pledges to HA. Ihavandhoo.

Candidate Solih received a festive welcome upon his arrival in the island on Wednesday.

Speaking with Ihavandhoo residents, Solih said that his administration will begin reclamation work in the island and give out the land to the islanders.

For the local fishing trade, Solih pledged to build a slipway, for boats to easily beach and launch from the island, and to allow fishermen to sell their catch from Ihavandhoo as well as to improve the ice plant.

Solih also pledged to build a turf football field instead of a futsal field.

He also emphasized the importance of health centers with good facilities and pledged to develop the current health center in Ihavandhoo into a hospital.

Solih also pledged to develop the Ihavandhoo roads the way the residents want as well as expanding the education opportunities.

He noted that Ihavandhoo plays an important role in politics and the reform work and said that he would not make empty pledges to such an island.
