The Jumhooree Party has called on Maldivians to vote for the Joint Opposition and their presidential candidate MP Ibrahim Solih, says the party’s interim leader Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan.
The party official said this at a campaign event held in Thimarafushi island of Thaa atoll, where he added that the upcoming elections are going to be unprecedentedly difficult.
When voting in September’s ballots, Dr.Hassan called on Maldivians to reflect on the state of the nation’s economy and rising national debt, advocating against supporting incumbent president Abdulla Yameen.
Hassan expressed his confidence that the Maldivian people would not elect a president and a government that is known to be involved in corruption and double dealing.
