Opposition coalition candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and his team have put up campaign posters in capital Male’ City.
Candidate Solih and running mate Faisal Naseem split up to paste campaign posters in different parts of the capital city on Friday evening.
Inaugurating the event, candidate Solih said that putting up posters is a vital part of any campaign while also noting that people in Male’ and across the country wish to see a change in government.
“Hopefully, we are seeing the picture clearly. There are people from across the country who want an end to this. We are seeing this very clearly in our travels. Likewise, we are seeing the same spirit In Male’.”
Solih and faisal were were accompanied by MPs, and senior party and Male’ city council members.
The posters depict the faces of the opposition leaders: former President Mohamed Nasheed, Jumhoree Party (JP) leader Qasim Ibrahim, former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, and Adhaalath Party leader Imran Abdulla.
Solih has conducted door-to-door in Male’, the majority of which voted for main opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) in the last election.
