Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has signed an agreement with a private contractor to contrast a mosque in Phase II of capital city Male’s suburban extension Hulhumale.

The contract was signed between HDC and a private contractor, Saud Yoosuf who had approached with the offer to construct the mosque free of cost. Company’s Legal Affairs Director Dr. Fathmath Shiunee has signed the contract on behalf of HDC.

The mosque, which is to be constructed in Phase II of Hulhumale is to be spacious enough to accommodate 650 people at once.

While this will be the second mosque to be constructed in Phase II, there are currently seven mosques in Phase I. According to HDC, at least one mosque will be in every neighborhood of Phase I of the fast-growing suburban extension of Male’.
