Opposition coalition parties have setup a hotline for citizens wishing to re-register their voting locations for September’s election.
Mariya Ahmed Didi, the spokesperson of the opposition’s presidential candidate, said their hotline, 7776982, is meant to answer questions from citizens regarding re-registration and the election.
Mariya advised citizens to clarify their confusions and re-register as soon as possible.
She said that they have received information regarding people being re-registered to the wrong location after they submitted their applications to some offices before confirming their preferred voting location and that those intentionally committing re-registration fraud will be criminally charged.
Citizens are allowed to re-register until August 12.
