Jazlan's family denies claims made by some media outlets over his death

The family of 18-year-old Mohamed Jazlan who died in an accident in Hulhumale' last Friday has denied claims made by some media outlets regarding his death.

While receiving treatment at Treetop Hospital, Mohamed Jazlan had succumbed to injuries attained after falling off his motorcycle while riding at a high speed.

Giving an interview to RaajjeMV regarding his death, Jazlan’s father Abdul Jaleel Ahmed said that the family believe that it was an accident. He highlighted that they had doubts about before, but that it has all been cleared up to them now.

Jaleel further said that the family does not have any doubts on the police investigation into his son’s death and that the family as well as his friends believe it was an accident.

Following false reporting from some media outlets regarding Jazlan’s death, the police service on Tuesday released a press statement along with CCTV footage to prove that there was no foul play in what happened that night. The CCTV footage shows Jazlaan motorcyclist crashing to the ground after having lost control of the vehicle. The footage also proves that the cyclist was alone.

Police revealed that their investigations prove there was no foul play in the accident, adding that no other vehicle was nearby. They went on to say that Jazlan did not have a license to drive, adding that he had previously been stopped six times for driving without a license.
