The opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has pledged to make Aasandha, the national health insurance scheme, a service that it completely ‘complaint free’.
MDP, the leader of which is responsible for having established Aasandha during his presidency, has divided their manifesto for the upcoming presidential elections into five chapters.
Under the family chapter, MDP has vowed to prioritize the health of families as a whole and as individuals, adding that access to adequate health care is a right of every Maldivian.
Further, the party has vowed to ensure that medicine sold in the country all come from reputable and reliable companies through better monitoring.
MDP has also pledged to establish a ‘Dhivehi Beys’ center to provide traditional Maldivian medical services and to train people in this form of medicine.
