Several individuals have been arrested for being engaged in prostitution in Alif Dhaal Maamigili island during the fasting month of Ramadan, .

Media Official at the Maldives Police Service (MPS) said that arrests had been made during a raid in a house in Maamigili under a special operation, and that the arrests were made as the group was engaged in prostitution.

Arrested were four Maldivian men, two women, and a male expatriate.

The police service said that the seven have been arrested. Four of them men and one of the two women have been remanded by 10 days while the other man and woman have been remanded for 15 days.
