Over 4,000 Malé residents register for city cleanup
The cleanup kicked off at 6:00 AM on Saturday
Over 4,000 people had registered to participate

Over 4,000 residents in capital city Malé registered to participate in the ‘Maa Saafu Malé’ clean up initiative that kicked off on Saturday.

The cleanup, initiated by the Ministry of Environment and Energy along with the state-operated Waste Management Corporation, began at 06:00 AM.

The ministry said that over 4,000 people had registered to participate in the initiative, including employees of government offices, members of civil society, and students.

Environment Minister Thoriq Ibrahim and Mohamed Muizzu, the Minister of Housing and Infrastructure, were at the opening and actively participated in the cleanup.
