Students qualifying for 'Top 10' express concern about revised criteria

Government tried to do the same in 2014, but refrained following student protests

Students have expressed concern over the government’s decision to not award the low-ranking O level graduates in the top 10 list at the education ministry’s ceremony.

RaajjeTV understands that only students in the top three will receive their awards at the ceremony, and the others will receive their awards through their respective schools.

Students have taken to social media to voice their concern. Some have said that they worked hard to achieve a spot in the top 10, and not just the top three, and that they are dismayed that the government has decided to not reward them at the auspicious ceremony for their 10 years of hard work.

The education ministry tried to do the same in 2014, but refrained following student protests.

Last year, the education ministry changed the criteria for choosing students for the top 10 ranking.
