Health Ministry’s State Minister Hussain Rasheed resigned on Monday.
In a letter addressed to President Abdulla Yameen, Rasheed said the resignation was regarding his concern over the government’s refusal to abide by the recent Supreme Court order to release nine political prisoners and reinstate 12 opposition MPs.
Rasheed has also resigned from the board of the National Drug Agency (NDA) and as vice chairman of the governing board of the national drug control fund.
Rasheed has confirmed his resignation to RaajjeMV.
